When it comes to photography the best is what you want. Whether your style is point and shoot to get the perfect shot, or you sit for hours to get that perfect sunset, everyone loves to display their art. With the help of Altron, you can reproduce, enlarge, mount, and do much more with your photos, whether they be new or old.

"The company has been around since 1993, however I just recently took over," explains owner Kevin Frenette. "We got into the business because my son is an artist, and once he introduced us to this, we realize how cool of a project it is."

Equipped with some of the most advanced technology in the industry, Altron offers a full range of services including a copy studio with large format cameras and in house film processing. They have a professional Scitex scanning system, sophisticated computers and software, and superior Iris printers.

"Only the finest art papers and canvas are used along with an exceptional ink-set that enables us to achieve an incredible color gamut," says Kevin. "Our Giclée prints are stunning in the way in which they create direct replicas, retaining all of the fine detail, which preserves the originality of the artists work."

Altron is primarily an artist service, recreating in all sizes from water colour creations to acrylic, but Kevin says they like to encourage people to come in and turn their favorite photograph into a masterpiece.

"We use an Iris printer to recreate for our clients," he says. "There has not been a better machine developed that prints like the Iris. It is definitely not an easy machine to run, but it still delivers the best! Giclée printing was introduced in the early nineties and is a method of printing generated by high resolution scanning and quality inks."

Many artists use a technique called glazing, in which several layers of near-transparent paint are applied to certain areas of a painting to obtain a required effect. To reproduce this transparent appearance, Altron uses highly transparent inks, which allows a more accurate reproduction.

"We make sure that the prints are treated with an application of UV inhibitor," adds Kevin, "To protect them and keep them looking their best for as long as possible. We guarantee our inks for 95 years."

Altron has grown to be a leader in the Giclée printmaking industry, honored to have been listed as one of Atlantic Canada's fastest growing companies two years in a row by Atlantic Progress Magazine.

"Our primary goal is to meet the needs and expectations of our customers," says Kevin. "Altron is committed to excellence in service and quality."
