Be careful when tightening bolts

Here is a helpful tip. Never apply grease or, even worse, oil on rusty studs and bolts that are stuck. Doing so will make it easy for them to get loose.

The best thing to do is clean the studs with a fine wire brush and maybe apply an antiseizing compound available at your local auto parts dealer. Cleaning the inside tread of the bolt is also a good idea but buying new ones is an even better idea. It's definitively not an expensive idea!

By the way, the proper way to bolt a wheel is with a torque wrench. This tool is not as complicated as it may seem and anyone with a bit of experience can teach you how to use it.
