Award-winning pianist Stephen Runge will mark the 200th anniversary of the death of one of the most important composers of the Classical period, Joseph Haydn, and the birth of one of the most popular composers of the Romantic era, Felix Mendelssohn, with a performance of their most admired piano works. Runge's recital will include Haydn's Andante and variations in F minor and Mendelssohn's Variations sérieuses. The recital will open and close with music of Robert Schumann: the charming Arabeske to begin, and ending with the dramatic large-scale set of eight pieces entitled Kreisleriana. The recital takes place on Friday, Nov. 27, 8 p.m. at Mount Allison University's Brunton Auditorium. Tickets are $10 ($5 for seniors), or by subscription.

The 42nd Senior Recognition Dinner provided by the Riverview Lions Club will be held on Dec.10 at the Riverview Lions Club and Community Center, 701 Coverdale Road, Riverview at 6:30 p.m. Reservations will be taken from Riverview seniors (65 and older) on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. The hall will be open for reservations on these dates from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Reservation will be accepted from individuals and couples at this time. Bernice MacNaughton High School presents Ivan Berlin's White Christmas, based on the classic movie starring Bing Crosby. The students and staff of BMHS are excited to invite you to the New Brunswick premiere of this holiday classic. The popular Christmas production, The Nativity Experience, plays Dec. 11, 12, and 13 at Glad Tidings Church in Moncton. Currently in its ninth season, this year's musical is entitled A baby changes everything, directed by actor/musician Luke Anderson, a McSweeney's dinner theatre alumnus.
