Anyone who thinks Riverview is not growing fast needs to take a drive in different neighbourhoods and be shocked at how many new homes are going up beautifully and quickly.

No matter in which direction you head, you will find new homes, some on whole new streets, some sandwiched in on established streets when large lots are subdivided.

A lovely neighbourhood in which to stroll in West Riverview runs off the Callaghan Road (which runs off Trites Road).

Turn left on Callaghan to Tobias Street, walk along Tobias to first Simpson and finally Saunders Street. our destination on this walk.

Like so many Riverview neighbourhoods, it is quiet and pleasant, with attention to safe places for children to play both in yards and public spaces, and signs of older children working off energy at basketball hoops and road hockey nets.

These are the signs of a pleasant quality of life, and it always makes me feel good to walk through a neighbourhood that places a premium on play. As the weather gets colder, it is good to keep walking.

"A vigorous five-mile walk will do more good for an unhappy but otherwise healthy adult than all the medicine and psychology in the world," is the way author Paul Dudley White expresses the same thought.
