Local craftsman lends a hand for library fundraiser

The Riverview Public Library is displaying the craftsmanship of Eric Legge of Riverview.
In the library's display case for the months of February, March and April are a beautiful assortment of handmade pens made from 50 to 75 varieties of wood, including bird's-eye maple, birch, apple wood, kingwood, tulip, ebony, oak and ash.
What began as a hobby turned into his own company, Pen-Lite Crafts in 1992. Over the years Eric has shown his products at the annual Victoria Park Craft Fair, Christmas at the Coliseum, the Dalplex show in Halifax and several other locations.
He's marketed his pens in other parts of the Maritimes, filled corporate orders and was also selected to supply the Premier's Conference held here last summer. These pens were (and can be) engraved with a specific logo and the name of the recipient.
They make very special gifts or mementos and are worth the cost - $95.00 for a pen and pencil set in a matching handcrafted wood box, and $25.00 - $50.00 for a single pen. Pens have been shipped all over the world.
The pens are currently on sale at the library and 20% of the proceeds will go to the library for new books and other needed materials. For more information call the Riverview Public Library at 387-2108.
